Winter Festivals

We had 3 athletes attend Winter Festivals this past weekend in Calgary. Adele, Max, and Sage all qualified for winter festivals which is a provincial level swim meet for 12 & Under, and Para athletes. 

Max and Sage competed on Friday in the 12 & Under category. They both took off time in their 200 Breastroke with Max placing 10 overall. Max also had a great 200 free taking off over 16 seconds.

Adele joined us for Saturday and Sunday and competed in both the 10 & Under girls category as well as the Mixed 9-12 50m Para events. 

Adele and Sage both made finals Saturday night with Max returning for 2nd alternate. Adele took home the silver in the Para 50m Free while she came 3rd and took the bronze home for the Para 50m breastroke. Sage had a speedy 100 backstroke moving up 2 places in the final in the evening. She also got a 4th place in her 100IM taking off 7 seconds with a time of 1:25.82.    

On Sunday everyone made finals! Adele in Para 50m back earning a silver with a time of 1:03.70, and the Para 50m Fly also getting a silver! Max made finals in his 100m Breastroke further improving his time from his morning swim. Sage made finals in 100 free on Sunday night and finished up her festivals with a 5th place in her age group and a best time of 1:15.18. 

Overall the weekend was successful, and a great time.
