The Bow Valley Riptides Swim Club offers competitive and non-competitive swim programs for all ages and swimming abilities at Elevation Place in Canmore, Alberta. Our trained and certified coaches will provide all swimmers the chance to achieve their goals and experience personal success. Swim meet attendance is optional, but encouraged, for all swimmers.

We offer a free week trial for new swimmers in our novice program at any time during the year. Swim for a week, make friends, meet the coaches and see if swim club is for you.

Online registration starts June 2017 and runs to April 2018

All Riptides programs are full for the current season.

Registration for the 2017-18 season will open in June 2017.

SWIM SCHOOL

A non-competitive 11 week Learn-to-Swim session for ages 6-9.
FUNdamentals of swimming and encouraging swimmers to enjoy their time in the water are the goals for these sessions. Please note that there is no free trial week for swim school as this program fills up every session.

New: Swim School Level 2 – For swimmers that have already taken one session of swim school, but are not ready to move up to novice. Tue/Thu 3:45-5:00 pm – Apr 18-June 27

There are no parent volunteer requirements for this program.

Fees: Level One – $250 – includes Swim Alberta insurance fee

Level Two – $300 – includes Swim Alberta insurance fee

NOVICE

Introduction to competitive swimming for 6-11 yrs. Emphasis is placed on skill acquisition in the four competitive strokes and fun in the water. Must be able to swim one length of the pool. Attendance at swim meets is encouraged but not mandatory.

Choose any 2 or 3 practices: Monday to Friday from 3:45 – 5:15 pm

Swim 2 or 3x per week for 90 min – 3 to 4.5 hours/week
Sessions – Sept 19 – Dec 22, Jan 9 – May 3
Fees – $600 each for fall/winter sessions
Payment plan – Due Sept 1 – $150 plus insurance, monthly $150 post-dated cheques
Additional fees – Swim Alberta fees, meet fees

JUNIOR OLYMPIANS

Competitive swimming group for 9-12 yrs. Emphasis is placed on proper technique in the four competitive strokes and an improvement in swimming fitness as well as fun in the water. Swim meets approximately once per month with most competitions in Calgary.

Choose any 2 to 4 practices: Monday to Friday from 3:45 – 5:45 pm

Sessions – Sept 12 – Dec 22, Jan 9 – May 3 and May 8 – June 29
Swim 2, 3 or 4x per week – 4 to 8 hours/week
Fees – $600 each for fall/winter sessions and $300 for spring
Payment plan – Due Sept 1 – $150 plus insurance, monthly $150 post-dated cheques
Additional fees – Swim Alberta fees, meet fees

JUNIOR PROVINCIALS

Focus remains on skill acquisition as well as developing competitive skills. Swim meets approximately once per month with most competitions in Calgary. Swimmers are working toward achieving the Provincial standards.

Choose any 4-7 practices: Mon to Fri from 3:45 to 5:45 pm and Tue/Thu 6:00 – 7:45 am

Season from September 12 – June 30
Swim 4 or 5x per week – 8 to 10 hours/week
Fees – $1500 per year
Payment plan – Due Sept 1 – $150 plus insurance, monthly $150 post-dated cheques
Additional fees – Swim Alberta fees, meet fees

PROVINCIALS

Top training group. Focus is on training techniques as well as competition. Swim meets occur once per month. Swimmers are working towards achieving Provincial and National time standards.

Choose any 5-7 practices: Mon to Fri from 3:45 – 5:45 pm and Tue/Thu 6:00 – 7:45 am

Season from September 12 to June 30
Swim 5-7x per week – total of 10-14 hours/week
Fees – $1500 per year
Payment plan – Due Sept 1 – $150 plus insurance, monthly $150 post-dated cheques
Additional fees – Swim Alberta fees, meet fees

Swim Alberta fees: All swimmers must register with Swim Alberta once per year. The money is passed directly to Swim Alberta and covers your insurance. Your insurance is valid from Sept 1, 2016 – Aug 31, 2017. Swim Alberta fees are not included in the cost of registration.
