Eighteen Riptides swam at the Cascade Age Group Challenge, a big three day meet in Calgary, and competed against 15 teams and 600 swimmers from across Alberta. It was one of the most successful meets for the team as they placed first among small clubs and sixth out of fifteen overall and won the Team Spirit Award for their enthusiasm and cheering for teammates. In total our swimmers won 25 medals, set three new club records and achieved numerous personal best times.
The Riptides 13&U boys relay teams dominated their age group winning gold in both their races. Neo, Alex, Riley and Sean took first in the 200 free, while Aidan, Sean, Neo and Riley won first in the 200 medley. The 12&U girls relay team of Avi, Rachel, Avery and Emiko won bronze in the 200 medley and set a new club record with their time of 2:35.21. They also finished 5th in the 200 free relay.
