Congratulations to Aydan for breaking her first club record in the 25 fly dropping four seconds for a time of 20.62. The previous record holder was Cassidy Behm with a time of 21.05 set at the beginning of the season.
We are back from one of the fastest swim meets I have ever attended. Seriously, we were in and out in about 2.5 hours. That includes warm-up and all 4 races for the swimmers…the heat sheet was only 3 pages. I hardly had time to eat all the food that the kids working at the swim meet brought me. Seriously, it was a lot of food. Hopefully the same happens at our swim meet (I like Nanaimo squares *hint hint*) It was a very fast and well run meet. So, how did our swimmers do?
Aydan had three first place finishes and all best times. Her swimming looked so strong it was amazing. I was really impressed with her kick and how smooth and strong she looked. Her best race was definitely her 100 IM, all her strokes looked great! Aydan is very close to achieving a Meet Qualifying Time in that race and attending Age Group Trials. Great work Aydan!
Pierre-Andre continues to have a great 2013 with three new best times and a third place finish in the 100 backstroke! I really am impressed with how hard Pierre has been training these past few weeks, leading the lane and pushing himself to exhaustion in some tough main sets. His great training has been leading to great results!
Tanzin came away with some great times, finishing second in the 25m free and dropping over 3 seconds. She is very close to breaking 20 seconds in that race, which is a great accomplishment! Her 25m backstroke was also great; as she sped away from the group of kids she was racing and dropped almost 2 seconds. Tanzin has been swimming great in practice, so it’s no surprise she raced great!
