New Alberta Standards

Swim Alberta has updated the time standards and meet qualifying times for 2012 and 2013.

To qualify to swim at Alberta Age Group Trials a swimmer needs to get the MQT (meet qualifying time) for their age group in one of the following events: 400 Free, 800 Free, 1500 Free, 200 IM, or 400 IM; and for 10 & unders only – 200 Free or 100 IM.

To qualify to swim at Alberta Age Group Championships, a swimmer needs to get achieve an “A” time in any event or place first in an event at Alberta Age Group Trials.

New this year:

– revised Male age groups: 11 & Under, 12-13, 14-15

– swimmers with “A” times can compete at Age Group Trials in events in which they have not achieved an “A” time.

– short course AG Trials and AG Championships held in Feb/Mar will be split into Northern and Southern events.
