Congratulations to Aidan and Sean who have qualified for the Summer Games in triathlon and swimming, respectively.
Sean qualified at the trials in Calgary by swimming the 800 free in 13:05.39, taking a whopping 1:35 off his previous personal best.
Aidan qualified at the Elbow Valley Kids of Steel, the first triathlon of the season to feature an open water swim. He raced to second place overall and first in Zone 2.
The Coho’s Mckenzie Morgan, pictured above, qualified for the Summer Games in triathlon on his second attempt. He travelled to the Alberta Kids of Steel Championships in St. Albert and finished second in his zone to secure his spot.
Aidan, Sean, Neo and McKenzie will represent Canmore at the Games in Lethbridge, July 26-29.
Triathletes will be competing in two events at the Games: the individual triathlon – 300m swim, 15k bike, and 3k run – and the Mixed Relay, a 3 person, mixed-sex individual super sprint relay where each teammate does a 150m swim and a 2k run.
Swimmers will compete in multiple individual and team relay events.
